INAUGURATION OF THE NEW SHOWCASES AND PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK "THE STATE OF ISRAEL"
On the occasion of the Holocaust Remembrance Week 2024, the Jewish Museum Lecce offers a rich calendar of initiatives that will take place from January 26 th to January 30 th 2024. With the patronage of Puglia Region, Province of Lecce, Municipality of Lecce and UCEI - Union of Italian Jewish Communities, in cooperation with Infotab Tours, CESRAM (Centro Studi Relazioni Atlantico Mediterranee), Italy-Israel Association “Elisa Springer” Lecce, Lecceventi, Cantine Leuci, Melograni Martino and Loft Music School.

Monday, January 29th 2024 - Meeting with Claudio Fano
Inauguration of the new showcases, which will dispaly the items donated by Claudio Fano, direct witness of the racial laws and the Jews deportation from the Ghetto of Rome on October 16th 1943.

Presentation of the book Lo stato di Israele: dalle origini al conflitto Israelo-palestinese (1850-1948), Mimesis, 2023, With the author, Prof. Guido Regina (Italy-Israel Association, Bari), Prof. Fabrizio Lelli, director of the Jewish Museum Lecce and professor of Hebrew language and literature at La Sapienza University (Rome), Prof. Furio Biagini, professor of History of Judaism (Università del Salento), and Prof. Antonio Donno, professor of History of International Relations (Università del Salento).
Traditional music by Eleonora Carbone (harp) and tasting by Cantine Leuci winery and Melograni Martino.
Alla presenza dell’autore, Prof. Guido Regina (Associazione Italia-Israele, Bari). Relatori: Prof. Fabrizio Lelli, direttore del Museo Ebraico di Lecce e docente di Lingua e Letteratura ebraica (Università La Sapienza, Roma), Prof. Furio Biagini, docente di Storia dell’Ebraismo (Università del Salento) e Prof. Antonio Donno, docente di Storia delle Relazioni Internazionali (Università del Salento).
