Hallah cover

This plate is used to lay the cover , the traditional braided bread eaten on bread and other holidays, except dinner. With Hebrew inscription “Hallah” (Sabbath bread).

Decoration in grape bunches, shaped after an Italian Renaissance “crespina” model, unknown provenance (Italy?), 19th-20th century, Sheffield.

Restored by donors, Paola and Claudio Fano, in memory of Giorgio Fano (Rome 1907 - Fosse Ardeatine 1944).
